Newness (A Poem)
I've been avoiding you
Pen
Paper
My thoughts
God
Sometimes these all mesh together in reflection
I feel the newness about to crash in
A looming, like a storm rumbling
I've expected it and so I welcome it
Come and bring the winds of change
Blow through what I know to be comfortable and right
Fit around me like a new garment almost too modern to call mine
Two years seems about the right amount of passed time
Two years of so much humility and so much growth
We are here again
Taking a step out this time on our own volition
For years we step in because doors open
This time I have the freedom to choose
I am stepping out into uncertainty but this time free of worry
I welcome it. I invite it.
Blow through what I know to be comfortable and right.
Fit around me like a new garment almost too modern to call mine
Certainty for the unknowns yet to encounter.
Come.
